Move your hand down the tiller extension
and keep the boat turning.
As the main is let out and the power comes
off crouch onto the side of the rack.
Try to get the arc of the turn so you
are close to the mark. Avoid hitting the mark with your
boom as you let it out. This can stop the sail going out
and result in a capsize!
Crew
Use your body weight to balance the boat.
Keep the boat heeled slightly to windward.
Don’t go into the boat too early.
Make sure the bear away is complete and that the helm can
balance the boat on his own.
