Key point:
- Keep the boat
flat & the turn smooth
|
Keep the boat flat as you
start the tack. The tack is initiated by slowly pushing
the tiller away.
Both helm and crew move into the boat
together as the turn is started. It is very important at
this point to bring the boat slightly over on top of you.
Ensure both the main and jib are eased
as you come out of the tack to aid acceleration.
The crew should hit the wire first
going out on the handle. The helm balances the boat using
the main and then follows the crew onto the wire.
